I incorporate many modalities to make my class fun, informative and an experience that can be integrated into all parts of life: mental, spiritual, emotional, physical. although the focus is on wellness, relaxation and breathing, my intention is to offer tools that will benefit students at whatever level they are at and give them skills that can be applied in aspects of their lives.
I worked and studied with Dr. Deepak Chopra at the Chopra Center for Well Being and in India. I received training and certification in Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda. As a Primordial Sound Instructor, I integrate the concepts of meditation and pranayama into the yoga experience.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from San Jose State University in 1984, after teaching Elementary School since 1974. Teaching yoga to the children in my classroom was an important part of the curriculum. I have studied traditional Hatha Yoga, in addition to Iyengar, Ashtanga and Bikram, spending time in ashrams and yoga centers to study and deepen my own practice.
